Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street, Site on Monday, May 11, 2009. Peter Oomen of Brockville age 83 years. Beloved husband of the former Marie Sonneveld and the late Maria Koyen. Dear father of Joanne Oomen (Ted) of Mississauga, Martin Oomen (Colleen) of Sunbury, Maria Throop (Leroy) of Glenburnie, Bernie Oomen (Kelly) of Sunbury, Shirley Sueters (Mike) of Yarker, Marg Anderson (Dave) of Gananoque, Rita Oomen (Dave) of Kingston, Kathy Robinson of Kingston, Joanne Blanchard (Dave) of Addison, Alex Smallegange (Lisa) of Gananoque and Gerald Smallegange of Athens. Loving Opa of Adam Birkin (Robyn), Heather Birkin, Denise Oomen (Dave), Laura Oomen, Erik Throop, Sarah Throop, Isaac Throop, Kayla Throop, Nicholas Oomen, Luke Oomen, Scott Sueters, Ben Sueters, Robert Anderson, Gregory Anderson, Geert Sjonger, Katie Blanchard, Arron Blanchard, Britany Smallegange, Kyle Smallegange, Jenna Smallegange, Megan Smallegange and Tyler Smallegange. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Antonia Oomen (Vendevelde) and by 16 brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street, East, Brockville on Friday May 15 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be Celebrated at St. John Bosco Parish on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Barnaby's Cemetery, Brewers Mills.
